Real hemi GTX with rare color combination. This GTX all the distinctive markings or a hemi car – VIN – fender tag and others as well as secondary body stampings; its all there. This GTX was fully decoded by Galen Govier and is in Galen’s Register. It was featured in the November 2008 edition of MCG.
The 426 Hemi engine in this GTX is a 1966 block. The GTX came to us with a Keisler four speed automatic transmission – we prefer original, so we swapped it for a heavy duty 727 torqueflight. There’s also a 3-inch exhaust system. The 727 torqueflight channels the Hemi’s torque to a 3.91-geared 8:75 differential..
The Amber Gold Metallic paintwork — a respray of the original “JJ1” paint code — still looks excellent. The undercarriage is gravelguard.
The chassis, suspension, and brake elements have been restored to stock condition. The car is equipped with manual brakes and steering. There are no drivability issues and no vibrations, and the car rolls on BFGoodrich Radial T/A mounted on reproduction Magnum 500 wheels. The tires show almost all of their tread remaining and the wheels are in very good condition, with no blemishes.
Only 193 Hemi GTX hardtop were built to U.S. specs and only 11 Canadian.
