Real H Code Hemi Charger four speed. This a real-deal, authentic Hemi car with the all-important “H” engine code in the VIN and “73” beneath the “AB” positions on the fender tag and all the other distinctive marks of a hemi car. Engine is 1966 but not original to the car. It is also an original four-speed car. It has been restored to match all of the build codes on the fender tag. Most of the body panels and floorpans are original. There’s also a 3-inch exhaust system with headers. The four-speed manual transmission channels the Hemi’s torque to a 4.10-geared Dana 60 rear axle. The paint shows very well after an extensive restoration job. The exterior trim and chrome are in good condition – rear bumper does show some wear. There are no cracks or chips in the windshield and no issues with the door and trunk seals. The headlights rotating headlights are not functional but all the gauges work.
Inside, this Charger’s blue vinyl cabin is original and still in very good condition overall It has the 66 only full console with the bucket seats. The seat covers, carpet, and headliner show minor wear. The same goes for the door panels and dash pad.
The chassis, suspension, and brake elements all work fine and the car is equipped with manual brakes and steering. There are no drivability issues and no vibrations, according and the car rolls on BFGoodrich Silvertown Redline Radial tires mounted on Magnum 500 wheels. The tires and wheels are new.
We had been looking for a 1966 or 1967 Hemi Charger for a long time and this one with its A4 silver paint and blue interior really caught our eye. Unfortunately, it had been scavenged for a lot of components, so we set out to open our wallet and bring this car back to what it deserves to be. We had to source a correct 1966-1967 hemi K-frame -fresh rebuilt 4 speed transmission from Passon Performance, a Dana 60 with 4.10 gears and correct radiator from Glen-Ray. We also added the Magnum 500 wheels with Silvertown redline tires. Finally full paint correction treatment with spectacular result (unfortunately done after pictures were taken). This was a real commitment, but we absolutely love the result. Road tested, this Charger drive as it should and looks the part.
