1971 Plymouth GTX 440+6. Black with black interior. Matching numbers 440 engine, non-matching numbers A-833 4 speed transmission, Dana 60 rear end with 4.10 gears. 15 x 7 and 15 x 8 steel wheels with BF Goodrich T/A tires. Real V-Code.

Additional information

The numbers; 135 1971 GTX six barrels were built of which 62 had the four-speed transmission. Therefore, this is a very rare one.

We acquired this car in 2019 and performed a full detail of the engine compartment fixed or righted a few items.

Fender tag has the special handling car designation and we understand this GTX was used by Chrysler to show the new for 1971 fuselage body of the GTX. Once it had served its purpose it was stored by Chrysler until 1978 at which point a company executive bought it.

It ended-up in a collection in Detroit where the owner converted the car to automatic transmission on account of an illness that prevented him from driving standard.

The original transmission was not found when the car came out of the collection but new 4 speed set-up sourced from Brewers was properly installed.

The engine on this car is not for the faint of heart it has 11:1 compression and pulls like a freight train.

Options include A34 super track-pak (Dana 60 with 4:10 gears) – F81 Deck lid release knob- G15 tinted windshield- J45 Hood pins – J52 inside hood release-N42 shot gun exhaust tips- N96 grabber hood – R35 am/fm multiplex radio and Y28 public relations.

The transmission shifts crisply.

The interior is original and in excellent conditions. Seats, dash, door panels, and carpet everything is in more than excellent condition.

The undercarriage is factory, solid and rust free.

The chrome is in excellent condition.
